Are You There God It's Me...Graffiti!

So for this week's free blog, I'm going to blog about my favorite artist...Banksy.

Sperm Alarm
What I really like about Banksy is how he has pieces that are hilarious like the one above and a lot of his pieces are about taking a stance against something. He is anti-capitalism, anti-fascism, anti-authoritarianism, and anti-war.

Crayon Boy-Los Angeles
He started doing graffiti in London and now his work is starting to pop up in the United States.
Space Girl and Bird
Pissed Angel
The piece shown above is one of my favorite pieces. When I see it, it says to me that even the best of us fall sometimes and when I found out that it was painted over I twas a little mad.

Sometimes all our work needs to say something...

But we have no idea what this is trying to say.

  1. I think his style is actually really cool! Sometimes I don't really have a sense of humor that relates to this, but I still like his style a lot. I also think where he chooses to create these pieces are interesting too!

  2. I think his work is funny. I wish he had some of his work throughout Washington! it would be exciting to walk down the street and stumble upon some of his work.

  3. I really like he's work because the meaning behind it, and the coke police man I think kind of looks like Samuel L Jackson

  4. Bansky is really great. There are sooo many street artists out there that are also really good and conceptually fantastic. I think you would really like the movie "Exit through the gift shop" which actually directed by banksy himself! The movie blew my mind and had a great twist to it, it is without a doubt no ordinary movie! Check it out!

  5. I really like Banksy's work. It unique and original and stands for something, which I really like in art. I like when art has meaning and I think he's really good at what he does.
